Malga Trela is located in one of the most beautiful Alpine pastures where thanks to the untouched environment you may re-discover your earthly roots. This is a paradise for families and cyclists, the ideal place for a lunch with our typical products. While our youngest guests play with the animals and feed them, the more adventurous ones may conquer our rock climbing walls. Day visitors as well as our hotel guests can join us for a visit of our cheese dairy where each day our homemade delicacies are prepared. From here many more trails depart into the surrounding mountains.
The Dairy
Every year in June, an ancestral event changes the daily life of our farm. With the "transhumance", our livestock leaves Bormio for the higher pastures of Val Trela. For the next three months our cows graze freely on the green meadows surrounded by Alpine peaks. In addition to the cow´s benefits, their milk and the cheeses produced of it obtain an enriched taste and additional nutritional properties.
Matteo and Aldo milk their cows every day and, directly at the Malga´s dairy, the best cheese of the year is produced.
Bikers´ paradise
Whether it is a stopover or final destination, Malga Trela has become a reference point for mountain bike enthusiasts.
Many paths and trails lead to us. Whether you come from the valley of Livigno, the Cancano dam lakes, the Lago Nero or from Val Vezzola, treating yourself to a break at our hut will give you the right energy to continue your trip.

How to reach us
Malga Trela is located at the Cancano dam lakes inside the Stelvio National Park. Easily accessible from Bormio and Livigno on hikes or by mountain bike.
